The kit of reagents is intended for determining the relative expression level of PCA3 gene using the method of reverse transcription and subsequent quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with hybridization-fluorescent detection.

Human RNA samples isolated from fresh urine sediment or urine sediment fixed in RNA stabilization and preservation medium that are obtained after prostate massage shall be used as the material for performing PCR.

The analysis result expressed quantitatively indicates the risk of prostate cancer in the patient and may be used, along with measuring the prostatic specific antigen level in the blood, findings of ultrasound investigation (transrectal ultrasound investigation), MRI, CT and digital rectal investigation of the prostate, as an additional criterion for prescribing the first or repeated prostate biopsy to the patient.
